Frequently asked questions

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. Every plan — including paid ones — comes with a 14-day free trial, and adding a card is optional during that window. You can skip it at signup and add payment details anytime from Settings before your trial ends.

Is there a transaction or processing fee?

Yes — a flat 1.5% platform fee on card payments processed through DanceUp, on top of standard Stripe card-processing rates. It's the same rate across every plan and every transaction type, and it's always shown before you charge anything. Use the fee calculator at /fee-calculator to estimate your total from your own payment volume.

Can I migrate from Mindbody or Jackrabbit?

Yes. On Studio Owner and Pro+, you can import your student roster, class schedule, and instructor list from a CSV or Excel file instead of re-entering everything by hand.

What can the AI Co-Pilot do?

Ask it, in plain English, to draft an email, an automation rule, a class, workshop, event, or package update — it proposes the exact change with its reasoning shown, and you can revise it in conversation before you approve. It also checks in on its own with proactive suggestions and can import your class schedule from a spreadsheet. Available on Studio Owner Pro+ only.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Canceling your subscription stops billing at the end of your current period — your studio's data isn't touched. If you request full account deletion, you get a 90-day window to change your mind, and your account stays active the whole time. After that, your data is permanently deleted, except for financial records, which are anonymized and retained for 7 years as required by law.

Do you support family billing?

Yes. A parent or guardian can manage multiple children under one login and one card on file — each child gets their own attendance and credit history, tracked separately, without needing a separate account.

How does the free tier work?

The Event Host plan is $0/month, built for organizers running events, recitals, or competitions rather than ongoing classes. It includes event ticketing, attendee check-in and refunds, revenue tracking, cash reconciliation, email campaigns, and your studio profile and billing settings.

What support do I get?

Every plan includes access to our guides and in-app issue reporting. Studio Owner Pro+ also gets priority support.
